Alabama has an “agri-tourism” law that protects people engaged in agricultural activities from lawsuits. Beekeepers are included. The law is similar to the one about equine activities, and requires posting a sign in order to protect yourself. If the proper sign is posted and meets all the legal requirements, then beekeepers are protected against lawsuits related to the “inherent risks” of agricultural activities, including the unpredictability of insects and their stings.
